The scope of the role may encompass systems architecture, capacity, security, stability and data flow issues. This role supports existing systems and is responsible for leading technical aspects of projects. The Systems Engineer will provide technical consulting on the use and integration of applications into the operating environment and help architect and implement infrastructure solutions that meet or exceed our internal and external customers' expectations. The Engineer will partner with corporate-wide technical staff and large external clients on complex projects and tasks. The role also requires the engineer to identify network related issues and make recommendations for corrective action. The engineer will be required to work independently and with leadership as well as provide coaching to team members. Works with external and internal auditors to ensure all Windows systems are compliant with current information security and Payment Card Industry (PCI) requirements. Write Unix shell scripts. *Job Specific Responsibilities:* Should have strong knowledge in operating systems, subsystems, and software vendor products. Installs, implements, maintains, and troubleshoots complex operating systems software and related program products. Provides technical consulting on the use and integration of applications into the operating environment. Works with corporate-wide technical staff and external clients. Works in both independent and collaborative environments. Provides coaching and support to team members as needed. *Candidate Requirements:* Experience with high availability and cluster solutions including Veritas Cluster Server, ESX Vmotion, MSCS. Working knowledge of system life cycle, Veritas Netbackup, EMC SAN, JBOSS, Apache, Oracle and DB2. Proven analytical skills in previous technical roles. Good oral and written skills. Must have a solid understanding of TCP/IP networking protocols & services, network security and firewalls. Must work well in a team environment and individually. Knowledge of and experience with audit and compliance issues. Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience. Fundamental knowledge of Clustering and Virtualization technologies. Experience with Enterprise or Service Provider class environments.
