Role: Desktop Engineer/ Altiris Management Location: Norristown, PA Duration: 9+ months Job Description: Expert in Altiris Management and Administration, Expert in wrapping applications in Altiris and Microsoft tools Experience in vbs scripts Desktop OS Image Mgmt - Altiris/MDT Desktop OS Deployment - Altiris / Server OS Image Mgmt Altiris Manages the Altiris 7.1 environment for an enterprise of approximately 35K machines, spread out across approximately 100 sites Manages the Symantec Antivirus infrastructure for an enterprise of 35K machines, spread out across approximately 100 sites Responsible for all Altiris and Symantec environment upgrades including server as well as client side upgrades Creates various custom scripts that are used for reporting against the Altiris and Symantec environments, as well as creating custom Altiris jobs and scripts for special projects Assists with various IT Security audits that require proof of antivirus and explanation of AV processes and procedures both for internal requests as well as external, working with IT Security on both Documents. Has technical expertise in a defined area and can handle problems/tickets - complex in nature. Serves as escalation point for all issues within a group (infrastructure support/network) in a project. Responsible for maintenance and administration, enhancements, following change management policies, report capacity and availability, updating of the ticketing system and KEDB. Is expected to train and mentor junior administrators. Maintains a roster for shift management (if applicable). Is expected to participate in weekly operational meetings, change management meetings. Expected to lead the team from transition to delivery and also work with Project manager for Infrastructure projects and SI work. Should engage in Continuous Improvement Projects or SIPs to improve productivity and SLAs. In Package Implementation space: The incumbent leads and manage complex DBA projects, has expertise in new technologies, developments, database and application upgrades. Mentors and groom DBAs.
