DC: Phone/skype Hire Location: Albany, NY Duration: 2+ months Rate: Open Duties include but not limited to the following: . Install/configure/upgrade IBM AIX 5.3 - 7.1 operating systems on Power5, Power6 and Power7 platforms including P720, P740, P770, P780 & P795 hardware. . Perform firmware upgrades on frame and HMC's. Perform backup and restore of LPAR's using TSM and Sysback. . Design and configure PowerVM and all virtualization services like Shared Ethernet Adapter (SEA), VLAN, VLAN tagging, IVE, NPIV, CPU pooling, Live Partition Mobility (LVM) and virtual SCSI services to multiple VIO client partitions. . Install, configure and support an HA environment utilizing HACMP and Power HA. . Support servers with SAN attached storage through IBM SVC, 8000 series, and XIV storage systems and utilizing management tools including PowerPath, SDDPCM and MPIO. In addition, support servers with NFS and iSCSI storage provided by EMC NS480 and VNX storage systems. . Install, configure and manage NFS shared and GPFS clustered file systems. . Create scripts in support of system administration tasks using KORN shell, Perl, etc. . Maintain LPAR's in an N-Tier, load balanced network environment using Global Site Selector/Content Services Switches. Submit firewall and DNS requests to the network team. Troubleshoot complex network issues. . Perform AIX diagnostic and tuning activities utilizing NMON and LPAR2RRD. Function as a single point of contact between the customer, other support teams, and vendors. . Support LPAR's running IBM middleware including IHS, WebSphere, WebSphere Voice Response, MQ/Message Broker, Infoprint, Tivoli monitoring, Tivoli Workload Scheduler and Tivoli Storage Manager with Protectier storage. . Install and configure IHS/Apache web servers using LDAP and SiteMinder authentication. . Install and configure servers to run Oracle and Oracle clusterware and assist DBA's with installation, configuration and troubleshooting of that software. Skills Needed: . 84 + months installing/configuring/upgrading IBM AIX 6.1 & 7.1 operating systems on Power6 and Power7 platforms including PowerVM virtualization services and high availability technology such as HACMP and Power HA. . 60 + months supporting servers with SAN attached storage through IBM SVC, 8000 series, and XIV storage systems and utilizing technologies such as PowerPath, SDDPCM, MPIO and GPFS. . 84+ months experience with Tivoli Storage Manager including installation and configuration of agents and troubleshooting of issues. . 36+ months supporting TSM backup servers utilizing IBM Virtual Tape Systems and ProtecTier storage. . 60 + months supporting LPAR's running a variety of applications including IHS, WebSphere, WebSphere Voice Response, MQ/Message Broker,Tivoli monitoring, Oracle and Oracle Clusterware. . 60 + months maintaining LPAR's in an N-Tier, load balanced network environment working with network teams on network/firewall/DNS issues and requests. . 60 + months performing AIX diagnostic and tuning activities utilizing NMON and LPAR2RRD.
