Direct Cleint : Phone/skype Hire Location: Fayetteville, AR Duration: 6+ months Rate: $35/hr-C2C/1000 DBA needed to provide cluster migration from MS-SQL 2005 to MS-SQL 2008/2012 using best practice methodology. In addition to the migration project the candidate will support additional DBA duties. Responsibilities will include: . Cluster migration from MS-SQL 2005 to MS-SQL 2008/2012. Configure, migrate to new hardware and manage multiple MS-SQL clusters and MS-SQL standalone servers. . Vet application compatibility with the approximate 50 database applications that the cluster holds. . Install, configure, administer and tune MS-SQL 2000 through 2012 database software. Monitor system performance; implement changes as necessary. . Install, maintain, and perform report creation using SQL Server Reporting Services. . Provide implementation, architecture and operational support of applications that utilize MS-SQL, including financial management systems and work management systems. . Develop and implement database backup and recovery plans. . Develop and maintain integration and interfaces among the applications. . Provide input on the appropriate application of new database and database monitoring technologies. . Assist other administrators in the installation, configuration, administration and management of Windows 2003-2012 Servers, VMware servers, and Active Directory. . Work with departments to generate better reports and assist them in using data allowing them become more efficient and effective. Additional responsibilities: . Experienced in troubleshooting and resolving database problems. . Demonstrated knowledge of SQL Server tools. . Solid knowledge in Windows server security delegations, SPNs, storage components. . Develop and maintain test and production database environments. . Experienced in implementing operational automation using scripts. . Possess good communication and documentation skills.
