DC: In person interview is needed directly with top 3 candidates. Location: Richmond, VA Duration: 12+ months Rate: Open Extensive knowledge of project management principles and a variety of practical experience overseeing and managing the development and implementation of complex enterprise systems is a must for this position. The project manager has ultimate responsibility for the execution and control of ITD projects from initiation to closing. The position requires coordination with both ITD and business stakeholders to describe, prioritize, plan, and manage both new projects and support existing production systems to ensure stakeholder satisfaction. The project manager will develop charters, project management plans, testing plans, and the requirements traceability matrix to adequately cover project requirements and minimize risk of defects discovered during UAT and post-implementation. The project manager leads groups of business systems analysts, technical developers, application testers, and systems engineers to deliver consistent high-quality technology solutions in support of business objectives. The project manager will coordinate resources and activities from initiation through implementation. Candidates should be well experienced in the use of the advanced features and functions of MS Project since Client technology project tasks, cost, schedule, and work performed are all tracked through MS Project Server as ITD's project and portfolio management system. This individual will provide necessary reporting, presentations, and documentation for IT and business unit management reviews, auditors, and to comply with project management oversight as necessary. The successful candidate will have advanced customer relationship skills for managing simultaneous projects within a matrixed organization. The candidate must have demonstrated mature skills in eliciting, identifying, and mitigating risks before they negatively impact project deliverables and key milestones. The position may require the development of Statements of Requirements, Requests for Proposals, etc. to solicit bids from vendors and negotiate resulting SOWs, contracts and other procurement documents representing client's interests. The position may require managing vendor relationships that promote the successful implementation and support of third-party applications. Candidates should have over 10 years of progressive experience in managing simple to complex projects and with related degree or certification education and experience. A current PMP Certification is required. Skills Needed Candidate must possess current PMP certification from PMI or VITA Project Management Certification Required Knowledge of project management methodologies. Required 10 Years Manage projects to consistently produce results expected by project stakeholders.
