| Duties & Responsibilites : | The consultant will be responsible for:
• assisting in the development of project timelines and deliverables for statewide reporting priorities
• day-to-day management of the project team which consists of execution of design, development, testing and implementation activities
• providing technical leadership on this complex project
• overseeing program design, coding, testing, debugging, documentation and support
• ensuring that requirements are documented, complete, accurate and approved
• actively encouraging and facilitating communication between management, business divisions, business analysts, development, and QA teams
• working with customers to ensure they are ready to use the new BI/DW environments prior to go live
• resolving project issues efficiently and effectively that may cause timeline delays
• The worker must have full technical knowledge of all BI/DW project phases and deliverables. The worker must have an in-depth understanding of Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse and end-user functionality related to ERP systems. The worker must be forward thinking and stay informed of ever changing software and database-level certification and licensing levels. The worker will be required to make recommendations to CPA accordingly as soon as these are known. Works under limited supervision of the Division Manager and Area Manager of the BI/DW teams - with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Required Skills/Experience:
• Demonstrated experience as a Project Technical Lead for large BI/DW projects.
• Working knowledge and experience with BI/DW technologies
• Experience coordinating testing including unit testing, system integration testing, and customer-acceptance testing; ensure testing effectively validates the system functionality prior to go-live
• Demonstrated strong planningand analytical skills with proven track record of finishing projects on-time
• Experience implementing or enhancing BI/DW operations
• Experience with ERP
• Knowledge of software development methodologies, design and implementations
• Experience managing team(s) of technical staff.
• Communication, analytical and interpersonal skills at all levels.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
• Strong interpersonal skill and the ability to collaborate effectively on diverse teams (e.g., portfolio/project managers, domain experts, users, and software engineering team)
• Experience with computer related tools, methods, platforms and operating systems.
• Experience working with enterprise BI/DW solutions.
• Public sector experience (Federal, State or Local Government).
