Job Title : WEBFOCUS Developer

Duties & Responsibilites :

As a WebFOCUS Business Intelligence Administrator, candidate will provide various levels of support for the server environment and to other developers on the team.
- Support WebFOCUS server environment as one of several administrators on the team
- Provide periodic on-call support for the WebFOCUS server environment in a rotation with other administrators
- Respond to alarms generated by the servers and troubleshoot issues when required (24x7)
- Work with the vendor when needed to resolve issues or research product capabilities
- Create data connections, generate File Descriptions (MFDs), troubleshoot data connection issues
- Maintain user/developer access control within the WebFOCUS environment
- Move other developer’s finished code to production
- Work various type of administrative requests submitted to the team through an online tool
- Upgrading the WebFOCUS server software and supporting software

Key responsibilities include:
- Developing user-driven reporting applications with web interfaces, parameter-driven reports, drill-downs, multiple output options, access control, database design and administration
- Developing procedures to load reporting data marts
- Developing analytical dashboards and portals
- Developing scheduled WebFOCUS procedures which produce and deliver output to clients, or load data into reporting data marts
- Collaborating with other WebFOCUS developers to work on larger, multi-part projects
- Mentoring other WebFOCUS developers in best practices, coding techniques, interface design, database design, problem-solving and troubleshooting, peer reviews, and testing methods
- Supporting existing applications and WebFOCUS procedures
- Writing documentation to support applications and processes
- Communicate with all stakeholders throughout a project to gain clarification of requirements, provide project status, identify gaps, identify issues, discuss schedules

EDUCATION:
Technology-related bachelor degree or equivalent education and experience.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:
WebFOCUS Development (Advanced), utilizing the following components:

Developer Studio, Report Painter, Graphing (advanced skills), TABLE, MODIFY, MATCH, MASTER FILE DESCRIPTIONS (MFD), FOCUS Database, DIALOGUE MANAGER, USER-WRITTEN SUBROUTINES, USER-DEFINED FUNCTIONS, SQL Pass-through, BI Portal (a plus), Active Reports, WF Version 7.7, WF Version 8 (a plus), Managed Reporting Environment Administration (MRE), WebFOCUS Reporting Server installation/administration/ configuration/maintenance, ReportCaster installation/configuration/administration, Database modeling and development skills for data marts and applications

OTHER TECHNOLOGIES:
- HTML, XML, _javascript_, MS Access, SQL Server, Tivoli Backup/Restore system (a plus), SQL Server Management Studio, TOAD
- MS Office suite
- Excel (Expert-level)
- PowerPoint (Advanced)
- Visio (Intermediate)
- Basic VBA automation
- Windows Server 2003 and 2008 administration
