| Duties & Responsibilites : | - Understand and translate business requirements into data models
Work with the Application Development team to implement data strategies and build data flows
- Create or update conceptual, logical and physical data models using best practices and according to company standards
- Recommend opportunities for reuse of data models where appropriate
- Generate DDL scripts and implement them in the database
- Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from databases and SQL scripts
- Champions and protects data from definition through interpretation
- Evaluate data models and physical databases for variances and discrepancies
- Understanding of ETL process and moving of data from source to target
- Understanding of different change data capture approaches and implementation
- Perform data model reviews with Data Modeling counterparts and BI team members
Required Skills & Experience:
-Minimum of 6+ years total IT experience
-2+ years experience as a Data Analyst / Modeler implementing Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence solutions
-Excellent understanding of relational database concepts, normalization and de-normalization, and dimensional modeling concepts
-Experience with modeling tools like PowerDesigner/ERWIN
-In-depth knowledge of at least one RDBMS (preferably Oracle) including strong SQL knowledge
-Experience with SQL, PL/SQL, Toad, PLSQL Developer or other common data analysis, exploration, migration, and reporting tools
-Experience in analyzing and documenting data mapping and transformation rules
-Strong analysis and problem solving skills
-Strong written and oral communication skills
-Experience writing complex views / materialized views, SQL queries and triggers
-Data Modeling, Data Warehouse environment experience.
-Strong SQL and Microsoft BI Stack. Knowledge of ETL. |
