| Duties & Responsibilites : | -Provides AIX/Power7 architecture support for customer base
-Provides AIX/Power7 administration, problem resolution, and support for customers
-Possess strong working knowledge and skill with PowerVM (virtualization), VIO, and NIM
-Provides recommendations for and implements system tuning and configuration changes in
-AIX 6.1, 7.1 and Power7
-Is comfortable with perl & shell scripting, creating new scripts, and modifying existing scripts to automate processes
-Has practical working knowledge of DB2, WebSphere, & Cognos, at the operating system level
-Understands and adheres to proper change control procedures
-Maintains technical documentation to reflect changes to the environment
-Configure and administer Logical volume manager / Veritas Voume Manager.
-Patch and Package administration
-Printer Administration
-Writing shell scripts to accomplish day to day system administration task
-Configuring and supporting Domains, LPAR s, DLPAR s
-Administer & configure various FS like JFS , VxFS, Pseudo FS
-Configuring Unix Security baseline
-Under minimal supervision, responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining the operating system environment.
-Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems.
Required Experience & Skills:
-Power7 VM, VIO Required 5 Years
-AIX Experience 6.1/7.1 Required 5 Years
-IBM XIV / SAN Storage Required 3 Years
-IBM Web Sphere Required 3 Years
-DB2 working Knowledge Required 3 Years
-Perl & Shell scripting Required 3 Years
-TSM / Protect Tier Highly desired
-POWER HA Highly desired
-AIX 7.1 Certification Required
