*Position : Datawarehouse Architect (Operational Data Store Architect) Location : Salt Lake City , UT Duration : 6-12 Months Phone and Skype* * General Job Description:* The Architect is expected to stay abreast of emerging technologies and new design approaches. He/she has to look at how technology and products can be used to meet user objectives or solve business problems; considering a number of different approaches and architectures, and then recommending one that’s most sensible for the environment. The Operational Data Store Architect directs or performs all activities related to maintaining the Operational Data Store (ODS) environment. Responsibilities can include modeling, designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining the ODS; establishing policies and procedures pertaining to the management, security, maintenance, and use of the database management system; and training employees in database management and use. *Job Responsibilities:* · Working day to day on projects teams to satisfy new business demands by building new capabilities into the ODS · Maintain an in-depth knowledge of current and emerging technologies and standards and provide technical direction to management and users · Work productively in a team environment, providing technical direction to other team members · Work closely with the Enterprise Data Warehouse Team and build synergy between the two environments · Provide support tool evaluation and purchase recommendations · Participate in the establishment of development and installation standards · Perform general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams · Communicate effectively with business and IT staff across functional departments · Work with management and staff to establish and maintain consistent processes for the ODS environment · Provide assistance and guidance to Application Services, Operations, System Support and the business partners as needed · Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures · Setup and maintain documentation and standards · Plan for ODS growth and changes (capacity planning) · Provide project estimates, plans, and schedules · Provide leadership to Systems Administration in the deployment and support of the ODS · Provide technical leadership in the installation and management of RDBMS server hardware · Perform business, logical and physical modeling for the ODS · Establish and maintain appropriate database security policies and practices · Interface with software/tool vendors for technical support. · Provide 24x7 on-call support and disaster recovery support as necessary · Performs other duties, as assigned. *Position Interfaces With:* Business users, ODS/data warehouse business support staff, IT management, technicians and business administrators at multiple levels. *Required:* · 10+ years of total IT experience · *5+ years’ experience with specific responsibility for support of ODS/data warehouse environments* · Experience in designing/architecting, developing and implementing ODS/data warehouse solutions is a must · Expert knowledge in SQL, procedural languages and database access tools · Strong knowledge of transformation techniques using ETL, ELT and CDC · Strong knowledge of relational database design concepts · Good understanding of both database and system performance tuning · Good understanding of database related utilities and tools · Expert understanding in Unix programming (Korn Shell, C Shell, Bourne Shell, etc.) and the underlying operating system · Strong knowledge of database loading methods · Strong knowledge of MPP database platforms · Expert knowledge of UNIX systems and tools · Good understanding of database security management · Knowledge of all phases of the system development life cycle · Strong leadership skills · Strong problem resolution skills · Strong testing and debugging skills · Strong communication and interpersonal skills · Demonstrated ability to take ownership & responsibility for development and maintenance projects *Regards,* *Kailash Negi **VSG Business Solutions* *221 Cornwell Dr,Bear, DE 19701* *Contact No: 302-261-3207 Ext: 103* *Email: [email protected] <[email protected]> Gtalk : usrecruite *[image: View my profile on LinkedIn] <https://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=120384244&trk=nav_responsive_tab_profile> Note: If you have received this mail in error or prefer not to receive such emails in the future, please reply with "REMOVE" in the subject line and the email id(s) to be removed.
