| Duties & Responsibilites : | - The ability to build and maintain Oracle Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Solaris servers
- Working knowledge of VMware vCenter tools
- Have the ability to create install, configure, maintain, patch and upgrade Linux/Unix server operating systems and system software applications
- Interact with IT analysts and end users to determine system requirements, estimate work efforts and develop and document system changes
- Command line expertise in Linux and UNIX
- Web server configuration and support knowledge
- Troubleshooting capabilities
- Perform diagnostics
- Problem identification and resolution
- Perform vendor escalation as needed
- Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational and time management skills are essential
- Must have strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision and be self-motivated and self-driven
- This position also requires the ability to be on-call 24/7
Experience Required:
- Four years or more experience as a system administrator with the Linux/UNIX operating systems
- A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field is preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered
Desired Skills:
- Oracle product knowledge including databases, RAC, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), WebLogic, GoldenGate
- Shell scripting
- Nagios monitoring and configuration knowledge
- IBM Websphere MQ
- Backup technology – CommVault, RMAN, snapshot technologies
- VMware experience
- EMC storage experience |
