| Duties & Responsibilites : | QA Specialist is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive suites of manual test plans and test cases, continued evaluation of test cases for inclusion in regression, verification, newly integrated features and contributing to our quality control standards for software development.
- Create, maintain and execute test plans and test cases against our hardware and software applications
- Analyze customer/business requirements and turn them into test cases/acceptance criteria
- Responsible for estimating testing effort
- Analyze and communicate test results
- Defect Tracking
- Participate in day-to-day QA activities
Work on multiple, concurrent software development projects
- Follow the departmental Quality Assurance policies and procedures
- Work as an effective team member
- Escalate issues and concerns as defined
- Contribute to the overall improvement of quality in the products and services we provide
- Review incidents received from customers/team members to determine correction action
- Provide assistance to customers regarding quality problems or concerns
- Review test plans and test cases with Project Managers and development team
- Participate in reviewing test plans/cases for other QA team members
- Participate in feature development and drive quality into development process
- Participate in process improvements for the QA team
Competencies/Qualifications:
- Solid understanding of testing software in an agile/iterative project environment
- Experienced software Quality Assurance vs. Qualitative Analysis
- Experience in growing and evolving enterprise level software
- Effective communication and writing skills
- Good negotiation skills with customer-oriented attitude
- Advanced analytical abilities to grasp the key points from complex business requirements
- Ability to get deliverables finished, deployed and put into use
- Ability to work well on a fast paced development team
- Ability to gather functional requirements of software and interface with the development team and provide clarity as needed

- Works well independently and is a self-starter
- Solid understanding of the entire lifecycle of software development (SDLC)
- Experienced with a variety of testing methodologies and tools to support QA including load/stress/performance/concurrency testing

Educational/Experience Requirements:
- 5-7 years of experience (minimum) in test execution of software products/applications
- An academic degree within computer science, engineering or math is preferred
