| Duties & Responsibilites : | Local Candidate Preferred: - Design and develop test plans, scenarios, scripts or procedures for testing purposes - Test system modifications to prepare for implementation - Develop testing programs/tools or scripts to addresses areas such as data testing, software scenarios, or usability - Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers - Identify, analyze and document problems with program function, output, online screen or content - Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes - Create or maintain databases of known test defects - Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates Education/Experience - Bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering or relevant field required - 5 - 7+ years experience required Responsibility level Exercises independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor Desired Skills - Strong knowledge of computer development software, such as Java, C#, C - Experience testing application using Google Map API or Open Layers API - Strong experience with GIS systems and Tools (commercial or open source) - Experience with _javascript_ and JSON/GeoJSON - Familiarity with Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Specifications including WMS, WFS, WCS, CS-W - Familiarity with spatial data, reference and projection systems - Prior experience with data testing. - Strong skills in writing SQL queries to do backend testing (MYSQL and ORACLE) - Experience of testing in client/server environment and testing of SOAP/REST web services - Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills - Strong ability to work independently and manage one’s time |
