Duties & Responsibilites :

-Looking for AIX Sr. UNIX Administrator that has extensive experience in building and managing Power 7 AIX environments running Oracle RAC Clusters.
-This candidate should have a solid foundation in AIX performance Tuning .
-In addition, they should have experience with NPIV and EMC SAN configurations within AIX.
-They should also have experience in managing and troubleshooting cluster interconnect, virtual Ethernet adapters, and ether channels.

Client is seeking a Senior UNIX Administrator to support a IBM AIX / Red Hat Linux / Solaris Server infrastructure and be responsible for building, operating, maintaining, and supporting the overall architecture for each platform.

• Support for implementation, troubleshooting, and updates of applications on servers
• Manage system infrastructure and all related processes
• Provide support for day-to-day operations in the Development, Test, Stage and Production environments to include the following: 
- Account Management
- Software / OS updates and patching
- OS installations and configuration on new servers
- Hardware setup and Configuration
- Server decommissioning activities
- Respond to Service Desk incidents regarding end user problems associated with the systems
- Assist Developers with isolation and resolution of application issues which are service, operating system or hardware based
- Provide early life cycle support on solutions deployed to production
• In-depth knowledge of AIX, Linux and Solaris.
• Strong experience with system management tools, logical file systems, and client/server
environments.
• Experience with HACMP, RACOne and Sun Clustering
• In-depth hardware configuration knowledge
• Shell programming experience
• Network experience
• Demonstrated initiative, customer orientation and team work competencies
• Ability to communicate technical issues with non-technical people
• This position will require off hours work and may involve working shift rotations
• Candidates must have experience in the following areas / technologies: designing and supporting high availability UNIX solutions; UNIX disaster recovery
• Troubleshooting experience and the ability to resolve complex AIX, Linux and Solaris problems
• ITSM Help Desk ticketing system experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Certification in AIX, Redhat Linux and/or Solaris
• VMWare and SAN/NAS storage Knowledge is a plus.
