| Duties & Responsibilites : | •Assists in the planning, forecasting, implementation, and identification of resource requirements for network systems (including wireless and VoIP) of moderate complexity.
•Participates in network planning, network architecture design and engineering.
•Integrates and schematically depicts communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into complete network configurations.
•Evaluates new products, performs network problem resolution and assists in the development and documentation of technical standards and interface applications.
•Monitors protocol compatibility, performs system tuning and makes recommendations for improvement.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Heavy/ advanced protocol knowledge (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, IPv4) and experience working with enterprise-level Cisco (ASR and CRS) and Juniper (MX960)
Required Skills:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
•IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments performing network engineering (hardware and/or software), design, planning and implementation.
•Hands-on IP router/switch/telephony customer premises equipment experience in IT design and support.
•Understanding of the high level design criteria for managing a large data/voice communications networks in a decentralized environment
•CCNP/JNCIP or CCIE/JNCIE certified or equivalent on-the-job experience preferred
•Solid understanding of IP routing and switching (OSPF and BGP). Interview will heavily focus on BGP protocol knowledge.
•Solid understanding of IPv4, Multicast and QOS. IPv6 experience a plus
•Knowledge of Frame Relay/MPLS/ISDN, etc.
•SIP / H.323 trunking a plus
•Strong scripting skills a PLUS: Unix, Perl, Bash, PHP, Python and MySQL
oMust be interested in willing to learn if you do not have experience
•Extremely organized individual with the ability to manage multiple projects and participate on multiple project teams
•Solid business skills to effectively interact with internal business units and external vendors
•Experience dealing with telecom circuit providers a plus
