Client is looking for a skilled Middleware Administrator, with experience on WebSphere or JBoss application servers, including application deployment, configuration support, troubleshooting, setting up new environments, disaster recovery, security administration, and performance monitoring.
- Use your middleware administration experience to support and provide consultation
- Ensure environmental setup, configuration support, application deployment, and application migration
- Provide technical assistance in resolving production problems, often after-hours
- Continuously investigate technologies and recommending solutions in the middleware space
- Interface with customers and other IT units
- Collaborate with other staff, and explain and document activities to ensure transfer of knowledge
- Periodic weekend, after-hour, and remote work
Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience with WebSphere Java application servers, deployment and maintenance
- Experience integrating backend systems utilizing JMS, JDBC, and LDAP
- Knowledge of UNIX or LINUX administration
- Experience in monitoring system and application health, including analyzing system/core dumps and logs
- Understanding of clustering, load balancing, and failover
- Ability to anticipate issues, analyze problems, and resolve them in a self-directed manner
- Ability to work under deadlines
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel across multiple functional areas and locations
- Good verbal and oral communication skills, including system documentation
- Must be a US Citizen or a Green Card holder with the intent to become a US Citizen
Desired Skills:
- Experience installing, configuring, and patching JBoss or Tomcat
- Familiarity with IIS, .Net Framework, and SharePoint
- ConnectDirect administration
- Experience with WebSphere MQ
- Experience using CA Wily Introscope
- Familiarity with Java or C# architectures and code
- Development experience
