| Duties & Responsibilites : | - Big Data Software Engineer
- This Senior Software Developer will be participating in a crucial role in the incorporation of cutting edge data analysis techniques to incorporate real time alerting, detection of interesting patterns worthy of further exploration, hypothesis testing and quasi-experimental design, segmented analysis, historical trending, statistical significance, machine learning, and data quality controls.
- Backend experience is key.
- This team will develop complex, data rich backend solutions for high-availability platforms.
- Care about data and analytics, not just technology
- Experience with big data technologies (preferably Spark, knowledge of how to properly design map/reduce jobs can transfer)
- Startup style personality (self starter, come with ideas, move fast and live with uncertainty, etc.)
- Some familiarity with ETL designs (data enrichment, etc.)
- Ability to productionalize the code (Dev/Ops, monitoring, etc)
- Ability to analyze data and structure it for use (dashboards/analytics/data science)
- Experience with Scala or similar language
- Big Data Technology experience in one or all of the following:*Spark*Hadoop*Kafka*Druid*HBase*Nagios*Play*Scala Experience*Heavy Java
Required Skills:
- Candidates must have Scala and Java
- We would prefer developers who have a Big Data background as well.
