Our client has started a 5-7 year modernization plan to upgrade all of their legacy applications in order to be the easiest, customer-friendly mortgage insurance company in the industry.
Your Role:
As a DevOps/ Cloud expert, you will help lead the organization to move to AWS. In the beginning phases of modernization, you might be focused on 60% new business/ operations, and 40% legacy. The new business focus will increase over time as the modernization project matures.
Work Environment:
The work environment is complex during this project. You will need to be solution-oriented, collaborative with your peers to achieve a common-goal, and have the willingness and flexibility to adapt to a continuously changing environment.
The environment is very collaborative, team-oriented, and innovative.
In your projects, you will work with your team and cross-functional teams to discuss business and technical needs, bring ideas to the table, and work together. There are times that your idea may not be implemented, but it will be heard and considered.
The floor place is an open-field. The work stations are open, there aren’t any offices aside from glass conference rooms, the walls are white-boards, and there are “thinking stations”. The purpose of this set up is to ensure that there is an open line of communication and everyone can work together. If you need something, you can find the answer.
REQUIRED SKILLS:

Technical Skills:
• Need a strong Linux Engineer/ Linux Administrator
• This person will be scripting (Shell, Perl, or Python)
• Configuration Management (they use Chef, but if they use Puppet or similar, that’s fine)
• Continuous Integration (They use Jenkins, but will take other CI tools)
• Maven (They must know how to set up their own build environments from scratch)
• Amazon Web Services/ Cloud (AWS, EC2, S3, DynamoDB)
• Install, configure, setup, support and administration for the following products (but not limited to):
o BizTalk
o MS SQL Server
o Tomcat Java Applications
o SalesForce
• Determine level of effort and provide estimates to implement solutions .
• Must have working knowledge of the LINUX (RHEL) & Windows operating system
• Experience in SQL and vendor extensions of SQL (PL/SQL, TSQL, etc)
• Solid knowledge of security practices and protocols is necessary.
• Solid understanding of key application security concepts, including authentication, access control and group access.
• Write and maintain technical documentation (Run Books and Release Notes).
• Provide support for application tuning and application production support
• Comply and maintain application security practices across computing platforms
• Comply and maintain DR and BCP documentation as necessary
• May be required to carry a company provided pager/cell phone and on rolling basis provide off hours/weekend production support.
