| Duties & Responsibilites : | Enterprise Data Management (EDM) Specialist will be a functional subject matter expert for EDM.
-Enterprise Data Management (EDM) Specialist will be a functional subject matter expert for EDM.
-The Specialist will also be the point of contact for EDM-related matters with current and prospective EDM customers.
-The Specialist will also coordinate and participate in EDM regression test efforts, and monitor EDM system update logs for exceptions.
-Additionally, the EDM Specialist will communicate with prospective and current EDM customers to include EDM-related guidance and EDM-related documentation.
-The Specialist will also, in communication with other VITA staff, perform EDM data steward tasks for the enterprise.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in a data or business analyst role that required defining process requirements, collecting metadata, and testing;
• Familiarity with enterprise/master data management concepts, principles and best practices;
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in researching, analyzing, interpreting and synthesizing information to make an informed decision and/or share the knowledge with team members, agency representatives and external representatives;
• Knowledge of physical process modeling, i.e. procedural design;
• Ability to use tools to analyze EDM components for comparison, reconciliation, and process quality review purposes;
• Knowledge of data management functions defined by the Data Management Association (DAMA), including enterprise data management;
• Experience writing and executing test scripts and test scenarios;
• Excellent verbal and writing skills and the ability to develop and present complex material effectively to a variety of audiences;
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish good working relationships with VITA team members, agency representatives, external representatives and vendor staff; and,
• Ability to work independently, to work against a plan, to meet deadlines, to follow procedures and to produce deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience supporting enterprise data management software (e.g., Initiate);
• Demonstrated thorough knowledge of one or more industry standards for representing data (e.g., NIEM);
• Experience applying statistical analysis to compare data sets;
• Proven ability to develop XML schemas;
• Proven project management skills; and,
• Previous experience successfully leading cross-organization engagements.
• Baccalaureate and/or advanced degree in information systems or computer science desirable; a degree with a minor in information systems, computer science or mathematics; or a combination of a degree and/or extensive experience in supporting large-scale, complex data management environments.
