| Duties & Responsibilites : | Local Candidate Preferred:
-Installing and Upgrading SQL Servers including applying Service Packs
Monitoring the Database Server’s Health and Tuning
-Optimal server performance
-Monitor the error log or event log for database errors
-Routine database maintenance, and the overall system maintenance
-Maintaining and Managing SQL Server Disk Space to make sure the storage utilized properly
Performing Backup and recovery
-Establishing standards and schedules for database backups
-Developing recovery procedures for each database
-Making sure that the backup schedules meet the recovery requirements
-Managing Database Users and Security
-Working with Developers to tune queries, how to use indexes etc.
-Log shipping Transaction Log
-Transferring Data – Importing and Exporting data to and from the SQL Server.
-Create and Scheduling SQL Server Jobs to perform database maintenance activity
-Establishing and Enforcing Standards
-Create and Test Disaster Recovery Plan
-Providing 24 Hours support
Other Responsibilities:
-Knowledge of using FTP Software to transfer files to and from FTP Servers SQL Server RDMS Knowledge:
-SQL Server Version: SQL Server 2008 R2, 2012
-Good understanding of SQL Server Databases
-How to do disk backup as well as TAPE backup
-Knowledge of restoring databases with point in time recovery
-Knowledge of Transaction Log shipping
-Knowledge of SQL Server Profiler to run Trace to indentify performance issue Index tuning
-Knowledge of using SQL Server Jobs and Scheduling
-How to create Database Mail Profile, alerts and operators
-Knowledge of Linked Servers
-Knowledge of how to use integration services or SSIS Packages to import and export data from/to sql server database
-Good TSQL Knowledge
Software Knowledge:
-Windows Server 2008 R2
-SQL Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2012
-Quest Lightspeed backup software
-Strong communication skills; both written and spoken
-Execution of all responsibilities with little direct supervision of Team Lead.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
-DBA Experience with SQL Server 2005, SQL Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2012 Required 5 Years
-TSQL Programming Required 5 Years
-Transaction Log shipping Required 3 Years
-SQL Server Profiler to run Trace to indentify performance issue Required 3 Years
-Index tuning Required 3 Years
-SQL Server Jobs and Scheduling Required 3 Years
-Integration services or SSIS Packages to import and export data from/to sql Required 3 Years
-Restoring databases with point in time recovery Required 3 Years
-GenTax Application, Services, and Tools Highly desired
Years of Experience: 5 years of SQL DBA Experience
Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study
