| Duties & Responsibilites : | - Consult with business users, systems analysts, technical leads and project managers to establish specifications and agree on timeframe for completion of assigned requests.
- Write detailed description of user needs, system design, program functions, and steps required to modify computer systems. Review specifications with systems analysts, technical leads and business user to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware, operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs.
- Develop, Code or modify, test, and debug application programs of varying degree of complexity. Install applications into production environments following change control processes.
- Work with systems analysts, technical leads and business users to develop and implement acceptance test plan to ensure that product meets customer requirements and expectations.
- Assist less experienced staff in user specifications, coding, testing, and debugging.
- Maintain regular communication on project status with Team lead, project management, and IS management.
- Assist with thought leadership and in driving web platform technical strategy.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 8+ years Java Development experience.
- 3+ years Hibernate experience.
- 3+ years HTML, CSS, _javascript_, and front-end web development experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Thorough understanding of, and ability to apply, computer software, hardware, and database concepts.
- Experience with Google Web Toolkit (GWT)
- Strong problem-solving and systems analysis skills.
- Sun Certified Java Developer (SCJD)
- Experience with DB2 RDBMS
- Experience with Rational Application Developer (RAD) or Rational Software Architect (RSA)
- Multi-tasking skills including:
- Ability to coordinate multiple complex requests simultaneously.
- Ability to work under pressure and strict timelines.
- Ability to see the “big picture” and understand how tasks interconnect and impact other tasks.
Project Information:
-The project that the client is working to backfill will mostly be a maintenance role.
-The application is a web application written in GWT.
-The application used by internal call center employees as an informational portal. T
-The portal integrates various systems together to display the information to users.

Development Methodology
Quarterly releases in a Waterfall environment. Are not running TDD, but try to be fastidious with respect to tests. Currently over 1000 JUnit tests.

Devs are mostly heads-down coders
Individuals will not be expected to derive own tasks.
Skills Needed:
- 6+ Years Java Development
- (3+ Years) At least 2 projects working with SOAP Webservices (experience with JAX-WS preferred)
- Previous experience working on at least 2 GWT projects (would be willing to talk to people without this experience, but would need to be very solid developers)
- Should be very familiar with writing own JUnit tests.
- Ability to write Developer-level SQL (Selects, Inserts, deletes, etc)
- Previous Experience with Hibernate on at least 1 project
- Previous experience with Python, Dojo, and Websphere configuration a big plus.
Special Notes:
Would like individuals who are versed in user-friendly UI development.
