1. Identifying information assets
· Grouping of Information Assets
· Determining the information owner
· Determining the information custodian
· Identifying information assets
2. Classifying information assets by confidentiality, integrity, and
availability (CIA)
· Assist information owners in answering the questions in the
Information Asset Classification Worksheet to determine the classification of
their information assets.
3. Determining controls based upon the classification
· Once the information is classified, the classification will be used
to determine appropriate controls.
Skills Needed:
· At least 60 months experience implementing information
classification; identifying and classifying information assets
· At least 24 months experience with NYS information classification
standard
· At least 24 months experience with information classification for an
insurance company
· At least 60 months experience with Technical Writing/Documentation
for IT computer systems
· At least 60 months experience with Information Security Risk
Management
· At least 60 months experience with System Administration of hardware
and software in the Microsoft, Linux, and Oracle environments
· At least 60 months experience managing projects using Project
Management methodology
