. Installing, configuring, and upgrading Oracle GoldenGate
software
. Building replication from Sybase databases to Oracle databases
. Monitoring the performance and availability of the replication
environment
. Starting and stopping replication as necessary.
. Identifying database changes necessary to improve the
replication process
. Reversing the direction of replication when we are ready to
make the new environment the primary system
. Managing the security of the replication environment
. Managing users, roles, and privileges in the target Oracle
database environment
. Monitor performance and availability of Oracle database
environment
. Starting and stopping Oracle databases as necessary
. Creating and maintaining documentation related to all tasks
and provide mentoring/knowledge transfer to other staff as necessary.
Skills Needed:
24 months of experience working in a heterogeneous GoldenGate replication
environment (e.g. Sybase to Oracle)
36 months of experience working with GoldenGate in an Oracle database
environment
12 months of experience working with GoldenGate in a Sybase ASE environment
36 Months of experience as an Oracle database administrator installing,
maintaining and troubleshooting Oracle 10g or later with GoldenGate for
Active-Active Replication in a UNIX-like environment (e.g., AIX).
84 months of experience administering Oracle Maximum Availability
Architecture systems (RAC and Data Guard) in a UNIX-like environment (e.g.
AIX)
24 months of experience administering Sybase ASE databases
84 months of experience programming in Oracle PL/SQL and/or Sybase ASE
Transact-SQL
84 months of experience using Oracle Enterprise Manager (a/k/a Grid Control
or Cloud Control) to administer Oracle databases
Bachelor's Degree in computer science or a related field.
