- Coordinate monitoring tool projects, services, and support activities with application and infrastructure teams for large and small projects.
- Consult with business and infrastructure development efforts. Partner with infrastructure technologies teams to provision application components. Provide detailed estimates.
- Document detailed working and operating procedures.
- Transition build and configuration to service operations.
- Assist with a variety of problems and provide expertise as needed.
- Complete design, build, and install of infrastructure for new monitoring tool technologies.
- Execute upgrades, migrations, tuning modifications, monitoring setup, and configuration for all monitoring tools as needed for projects.
- Strong leadership and organization skills. Strong oral and written communications skills.
- Analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments and effectively prioritize.
- Ability to learn new technology with limited direction.
Required Skills and/or Competencies:
• Required technical skills, these are technologies in the enterprise or will be very soon and align with our architectural direction
• Experience administering, designing and implementing monitoring solutions using the following tool set in order of importance: CA APM, CA Cloud Monitor, CA Nimsoft, CA Service Operation Insight, CA Unified Communications Monitor
• Nice to have (technologies in the enterprise either in the enterprise or technologies that will be as we execute on our architectural direction): HP Operations Manager, HP BSM, HP NNMi, Nastel Autopilot, HP Performance manager, HP reporter, CA Customer Experience Monitor, CA Spectrum, Other CA monitoring toolset experience Mainframe.
• Broad experience in application and/or technology support is ideal. ITIL understanding is ideal (Incident, problem, event, config capacity).
• Non-technical skills with communication, technical and non-technical, and negotiation are important Prescreening Questions (to be included with each candidate submittal)
• Please describe a time when you advocated and/or promoted the value of a tool or technology.
