-Design, implement, administer, troubleshoot and optimize the architecture of an enterprise-wide network for various business and medical applications.
-This includes ensuring the security and availability of such network including configuring new implementations and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the enterprise-wide network.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide information, recommendations, assistance, and support to management regarding planning, development, and maintenance of architecture and strategy.
- Design, build and implement a highly secure network access across St. Alexius Medical Center. 
- Determine technical requirements to deliver solutions; recommend and design technical environment and configurations to meet the objectives and requirements of solutions; diagram and document technical architecture.
- Plan, develop, install, configure and secure the LAN, WAN and VPN networks. 
- Setup and program network routers, switches, firewalls and other appliances. 
- Research, evaluate, and analyze problems, network performance data, solutions, tools, advanced functionality, industry trends, and best practices; determine impact of alternatives and options; prepare written and verbal reports and presentations, technical articles, and white papers; make recommendations for enterprise architecture, tools, techniques, solutions, and enhancements; determine process for implementation and integration. 
- Assist in problem resolution of the most complex nature and as pertains to enterprise architecture.
- Monitor and analyze network traffic and provide capacity planning solutions for all related assets.
- Assist in managing or may manage project tasks, costs, time frames, changes, etc.; document project activities; and communicate status of projects to managers and staff, customers, and external entities.
- Administer Microsoft Exchange. 
- Administer secure remote connectivity using SSLVPN technology
- Interact and negotiate with vendors and contractors concerning ongoing enterprise-wide development.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to appropriate network personnel to successfully grow internal staff.
- Departmental financial report is managed within budget.
- Attains overall bottom line defined as: Total Gross Revenue - Total Deductions and Adjustments + Other Operating Revenue - Operating Expenses + or - Affiliation Gain/Losses, Less Investment Results = Overall Bottom Line.
- Effectively participates on a performance improvement initiative.


NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:Education: 
Requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, or another information technology related field and two years of professional-level work experience specific to the position or a two year degree in computer science, computer information systems, or another information technology related field and four years of professional-level work experience specific to the position or eight years of professional-level work experience specific to the position

Licensure:  None

Experience: 
Two years of professional-level work experience as identified above.

Skills:

Requires technical knowledge of principles, concepts, and methodology.
-Requires extensive experience in duties of an equivalent type and complexity as those performed at this level.

-Requires lifting of boxes up to 50 pounds on occasion.
