-Works under the supervision of the Information Systems Manager.
-Provides hardware and software support for the Medical Center’s computer information system.
-Installation of hardware and software, including but not limited to printers, PCs, thin clients, wired and wireless devices, etc.
-Works with application and hardware computer vendors and documents all computer maintenance encounters. Attends all appropriate vendor meetings.
-Troubleshooting for any computer hardware problems including but not limited to the following equipment: printers, modems, PC’s, thin clients, fiber optics, etc.
-Investigates, interprets and provides suitable solution for hardware problems.
-Installs, maintains and supports all types of network connectivity, including wired and wireless devices.
-Maintains logs, computer inventories and other department records and files and attends weekly dept meetings.
-Departmental financial report is managed within budget.
-Attains overall bottom line defined as: Total Gross Revenue - Total Deductions and Adjustments + Other Operating Revenue - Operating Expenses + or
- Affiliation Gain/Losses, Less Investment Results = Overall Bottom Line.
Required Skills:
-Knowledge of computer science concepts and hardware and software applications.
-Knowledge of the Clinic’s policies, procedures and computer systems. Skill in gathering information about user needs and converting it into specifications.
-Ability to input quickly and accurately with strict attention to detail.
-Ability to reason and think logically.
-Ability to recognize, evaluate and resolve problems and correct errors.
-Technical degree or certificate in Information, Computer Systems or related field helpful but not required
-Two years prior systems and network administration experience preferred
Interpersonal Skills:
-Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees, patients, organizations and the public.
-Strong communication skills are key to this position. Must have common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form. The Hardware Technician will maintain a positive and professional manner at all times.
-He/she will treat coworkers, patients and business vendors with the utmost courtesy and respect for their persons and positions
Physical Effort:
-Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, computer, telephone and other office equipment. Requires the ability to view terminal screen for long periods of time without eye-strain or stress.
-Requires lifting papers or boxes up to 50 pounds on occasion.
