Provides recommendations including definition of physical structure, functional capabilities, security structure, and the backup and recovery processes. Develops and optimizes stored procedures. Documents system details and maintenance process and trains DBAs as needed. Strong knowledge of the development and deployment of enterprise-wide databases and related systems required. Strong skills in data modeling, physical database design and logic also essential. *Years of Experience: 5-10.* Experience: Relies on extensive experience to plan and accomplish tasks. Ability to lead an organized work effort. Awareness of current and future trends in ETL. Ability to understand, and communicate with other ETL department personnel. Ability to work under deadlines and heavy workloads. Capable of handling multiple tasks with minimal supervision. Possess great organizational, communication, and analytical skills, able to work independently and flexibly. Working knowledge of standard query language (SQL), extensive knowledge of Data Warehouse concepts and design. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read and understand various data structures. Knowledge of advanced SQL queries. Understanding of the various types of historical data. Strong Knowledge of advanced error handling processes and procedures. Experienced with automated data validation processes. Understanding of dynamic SQL. Able to create complex packages using Informatica and SSIS. Able to create administrative reports from the ETL metadata repository. Able to migrate ETL packages and jobs from development to production environments. Understanding of ETL configuration management procedures. Knowledge of ETL job scheduling processes and monitoring capabilities. ETL problem-solving and metadata skills. Experience installing and upgrading ETL software and hardware. Understanding of Healthcare data is desired. Able to work independently and take ownership of tasks. Able to create conceptual, business, and technical documentation. *ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS* 1*. Leadership: Demonstrate ability to guide interdisciplinary project teams through the processes of developing data extraction, transformation, and load programs.* 2. ETL Developer operations: Extracts, tests, loads, and validates data. Analyze the data flow requirements and develops a scalable architecture for staging and loading data. Interprets the transformation rules for all target data objects and develops the software components to support the transformation. Assist with design/implementation of data staging methods. Prepare/implement data verification and testing methods. Assist with Metadata Repository management. Assist in moving development to production. Create scripts required to extract, transform, clean, and move data and metadata from a source application so they can be loaded into a data warehouse, data mart, or operational data store. Installs and upgrades ETL server and client software. Installs and upgrades ETL server hardware and operating systems. *3. Reporting: Report ETL mapping documentation. Develop ETL packages and jobs. Create ETL error reports.* Create ETL data validation result reports. Develop ETL metadata repository. Source and target data files. ETL tool installation and upgrade documentation. Keep ETL system documentation. Create ETL system documentation. Create source to target data lineage documentation. Maintain the development, test, user acceptance, and production ETL environments. 4. Compliance: Adheres to the principles of the of Ethics Compliance Plan in every encounter with customers, vendors, regulating agencies, the public and fellow employees. Adhere to corporate policies, procedures and standards relating to ETL and databases. 5.
