*Healthcare Data Analyst*
Location: Detroit, MI

*Engagement Description*
The Strategic Informatics & Program Evaluation (SIPE) department is a
business department responsible for researching, planning, organizing,
directing, implementing, and managing corporate cost benefit savings
programs and initiatives dedicated to enhancing health care value. SIPE is
a team of programmers and analysts with *extensive healthcare industry
knowledge and is experienced in the application of analytical methods to
healthcare claims data. This position will be responsible for using SQL
Server and Oracle to extract, transform and load corporate healthcare
administrative data (claims, provider, and membership) into data structures
for analysis*
*Top Three Skills/Experience*
*- SQL Candidates will be proficient in writing simple and complex select
statements utilizing joins, sub queries and unions. Candidates will also be
experienced in creating database objects such as tables, indexes and views.
Experience using the insert, update and delete commands is required (1-3+
years)*
*- Large Data - Experienced extracting and analyzing large amounts of data
(10 to 100 million rows) of structured and unstructured data from multiple
sources. (1-3+ years)*
*- Excel and Access - Ability to extract data from databases tables into
Excel and Access for analyst use. (1-3+ years)*
*Required Skills/Experience*
- Exhibits technical proficiency in tools used to extract manipulate and
report corporate *healthcare administrative data, primarily SQL Server,
Oracle and Toad.*
*- Exhibits the ability to effectively work with large structured and
unstructured data from multiple sources.*
*- Demonstrated experience supporting businesses owners, analyst teams and
clients with their analytical, programming, and technical needs*
*- Exhibits excellent communication skills both verbal and written to both
synthesize and develop specifications into appropriate SQL code in order to
meet the needs of the requestor*
- Able to partner with business analysts to support the development of
large data sets to facilitate analysis.
- Able to effectively work independently and as a part of a team consisting
of members from multiple business and academic disciplines.
- High attention to detail with high work quality standards
*Educational Requirements*
BS Computer Science or equivalent
