Please find the Job Description below and let me know your interest. *Title: Sr. QE Engineer* *Location : Palo Alto, CA* *6+ months contract* We are looking for a talented and motivated senior engineer to work on the challenges of executing optimization engineering for CLIENT’S vCloud Suite. Engineers in this role should be able to understand and implement reference architectures targeting specific IT outcomes for cloud-based solutions. They should be able to analyze technical workflows for CLIENT products, derive meaningful metrics to measure time to value and derive the methods to measure those metrics. They should be able to produce measurement specifications, execute towards those specs, generate measurement reports and make optimization recommendations based on the reports. *The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of VMware products with hands-on experience in installation & configuration or other technical functions. * This is a senior role requiring a strong sense of ownership and self-starter ability. The ideal candidate can deal with subjectivity and work around ambiguity to deliver results in a timely manner. Ideal candidates will thrive in brainstorm sessions and ideate towards solutions. The position will be part of a fast-growing function and will need to actively contribute towards project deliverables and the growth of the function. Engineers in this role will work cross functionally with a variety of groups including Product Management, QE, Integration engg, Field Solutions, Customer support etc.. The engineers will participate in design reviews, technical scrums and other cross functional activities to stay connected with the org goals and BU objectives Competencies : - Master’s degree in Computer Science strongly preferred - 7+ years hands-on experience/ knowledge with VMware products through roles such as *QE or test engineering. Candidates with system/sales/* *integration* engineering background having strong product knowledge may also apply. - Very familiar with the Software development life cycle. - Strong understanding of *Windows/Linux operating systems, Networking and Storage concepts.* - 5+ years’ experience in one or more of the following programming languages: *Java, Python, Perl* *Broad technical knowledge including: * - Operating system fundamentals (task scheduling, memory management) - Basic systems administration (installing and configuring operating systems and hardware) - Software development lifecycle - Good software engineering practices and software design principles. - Excellent communication skills required *Performance Objective: * - Devise strategies to derive metrics from workflow designs and develop measurement strategies to cover various components of the SDDC suite of products. - Continuously apply innovation to deliver high quality products to customers. - Provide frequent reviews on reference designs, measurement designs and code. - Provide technical guidance, direction and mentorship to team members - Measurement design, implementation, execution, debugging and automation.
