The SQL Database Administrator may be responsible for:
-Providing SQL Server database administration, application tuning, database security and production support
-Installing, upgrading and maintaining SQL Server databases
-Planning and executing database backup and recovery
-Providing database tuning for performance and stability
-This position participates in an on-call rotation with other DBA's to provide 24X7 coverage
Basic Qualification:
-High School Diploma or equivalent
-Three years of direct DBA experience working with SQL Server
-Five years of direct IT experience providing server support, database support or application programming
-Ability and willingness to perform tasks outside normal business hours and on weekends as well as carry an on call pager for at least one week every 6 to 8 weeks
-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or other IT/IS related major
-Excellent oral and written communication skills
-Expert diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem solving for SQL Server
-Ability to work effectively across time zones and geography
-Self-directed and self-motivated to solve problems quickly and creatively
-Ability to work effectively in a team environment to encourage collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
-Applications support experience
-Infrastructure support
