.Looking for a DOCSIS Engineer capable of designing and deploying DOCSIS networks for the delivery of both data and video solutions.
.Individual will be responsible for maintaining the Mediaroom over DOCSIS lab, design of customer configurations and customer acceptance testing.
.Candidate should have knowledge of deployed CMTS platforms (Arris C4, uBR10K, etc..) and be adept at designing both On-Board and M-CMTS solutions.
.Ideal candidate will also have working knowledge of CCAP, DOCSIS 1.0-3.1, DSG, Video compression, video delivery, IPv6, BSoD, Packet Cable and DOCSIS STB Gateways.
Requirements
· 3+ years of experience working on DOCSIS networks, CPE and ancillary equipment.
· 3+ years of experience with Packetcable specifications and CMTS hardware
· 3+ years in IP Network Engineering, with experience in all packet based protocols such as TCP/IP (including protocols like DHCP, DNS, TCP, UDP, etc), MPLS and routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP4.
· Capable of designs and requirements to meet product needs
· Perform evaluation, design and implementation tasks associated with new services and features of our products.
· Define and compile the methods of procedures and documentation to support personnel in the maintenance and day to day operation of the network.
· Knowledge of Cisco/Motorola video delivery.
· Good understanding of basic RF parameters and signal flows (frequency, power-level, modulation methods, channel widths, signal losses, SNR etc.)in a CATV system
· Responsible for driving success of market trials into production implementation plans.
· Ability to configure / maintain and provide assistance to customers on all major DOCSIS platforms, including M-CMTS configurations, including management and provisioning suites (DHCP, TFTP, DNS, DTI, etc..)
· Knowledge of DOCSIS specifications, cable modem and STB/gateway capabilities
· Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
· Proficient at configuration scriptingvia industry standard CLI interfaces
