*Job Description*
· I have a brand new need for a Cognos TM1 Sr. Systems Analyst
who’s also 50/50 technical & functional – they’ve been seeing a lot of
Cognos guys, but no one who has the TM1 experience that they’re looking
for.
· This company will be very critical on the interview, they’ve had
two separate people who showed up for the second round interview, but were
not the same person who they spoke with on the phone.
· Most of the cubes are built already so this position is more
focused on analysis, but a qualified resource should be capable of building
cubes as needed down the road.
The Senior Systems Analyst will be responsible for assisting in
the implementation and ongoing maintenance and support of Cognos TM1
applications. This position will participate in SDLC activities
including business requirements gathering, solution design, software
development, unit testing and support. The senior analyst is expected to
understand the business at a detail level and leverage this knowledge to
ensure the timely delivery of quality solutions.
*Job Responsibilities :*
− Convert business requirements into solution design and
lead the development, implementation and support of software solutions to
meet customer needs
− Work with business users to gather and document
detailed business requirements
− Collaborate with team members, business users and
solution architects to design working solutions
− Participate and provide input for development and
integration standards and mentor analysts
− Contribute to requirement and design reviews with
business partners and other members of IT Investigate new technologies and
techniques and adapt to business requirements
− Results oriented with ability to manage multiple
projects
− Review and identify areas for automation within the
TM1 applications and improvements in business processes. Provide solutions
to eliminate inefficiencies.
− Write user manuals and conduct training
− Test and QA applications before they are delivered to
business users Provide application support
* Job Qualifications :*
− A degree in either IT or Finance (or a combined
diploma) and experience with object oriented programming languages
(Microsoft .NET, Java, Visual Basic, VBA).
− 5+ years hands-on experience developing Business
Intelligence solutions, preferably with Cognos TM1
− Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical
skills
− Knowledge of databases (MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL) and
industry standard Report Writing tools (eg Crystal, Business Objects,
Cognos)
− Excellent communication skills (verbal and written),
ability to present complex technical information to non-technical business
users
− Experience in finance, budgeting and planning with a
track record of developing and supporting planning and reporting models for
enterprise use
