Visa Status: Only EAD / GC / Citizen Position: Java Developer Job Type: Long Term Contract Interview: Telephonic and In Person Location: Columbia, MD Job Duties & Responsibilities: Primarily, the developer will support the Edge API service - a restful API service used by internal and external customer which supports trading and a variety of other functions. The developer will also support the Client’s Apigee implementation. Apigee is used to make the Edge API and other externally facing services more secure. Secondarily, the developer will the support the UAM service - a SOAP service running on AMX which supports user and account queries to most of the client facing applications. Required Skills: · Excellent inter-personal and communication skills (written and verbal) · Excellent problem-solving skills · Java core & concurrent programming experience · JEE, java web apps, creating Restful and SOAP web services · Enterprise messaging experience including JMS. · Iterative software development lifecycle and best practices · Object-Oriented Analysis & Design, and OO Programming · Strong knowledge of Design Patterns & Best Practices for Java & Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) · Strong experience in Application tuning (java, JEE, SQL, etc.) · Solid knowledge & understanding of Service Oriented Architecture · Strong experience programming PL/SQL · Strong experience with DB and ORM tools · Experience with high transaction volume systems # of Years Required: · 7+ years of java core & concurrent programming experience · 4+ years of experience developing JEE, java web apps, Restful and SOAP web services · Must be able to function as a developer for middleware in a high transaction volume application environment · 2+ years of enterprise messaging experience including JMS. Preferred Skills: · Financial services/brokerage experience including Securities trading, Securities & Market data, clearing, etc. · Spring ecosystem, particularly Core, Data, Boot, plus other widely-adopted open source technologies · JavaScript and Node.JS, and other languages in the Java ecosystem (Groovy, Scala, Clojure) · RESTful services and patterns, the Richardson Maturity Model, & Micro-Service Architectures · Platform-as-a-service technologies such as (e.g. Heroku, CloudFoundry, Apprenda) · High-throughput transactional systems · TIBCO EMS, AMX, & Business Works · Grid computing using Oracle Coherence, Terracotta EHCache, etc. · Experience with other messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ, AMQP, 0MQ, Kafka, etc. · Knowledge & experience with database development & data modelling · Data Lake and Big data using Hadoop and its ecosystem Thanks and Regards, Chandan IRIS Software, Inc.
