*Contract* *Long Term* *Irvine, CA * *Need to be local and can F2F.* *Position Summary: *The Senior Software Engineer is aimed at providing enhanced functionality to the existing media applications in the Technology and Data Intelligence department of Kelley Blue Book. The primary goal of the Vehicle Systems engineering team is to support and develop key solutions for our Vehicle Information Management System, VIMS. VIMS is our system of record for vehicle configuration and valuations data. In addition, our engineers support our AuctionMate/STARS applications and auction handheld devices. *Position responsibilities: * - Participate with the team in delivering a quality software product through collaboration with our product owners, business analysts, architects, and other developers. - Design, develop, test, debug, and support software applications of moderate to major complexity and scope utilizing standard procedures and techniques. - Analyze and solve problems of various complexity levels, implementing successful solutions. - Application and systems troubleshooting for escalated issues from Technical Support or Operations - Perform extensive unit testing and build scripting. - Document new development as needed - Participate in projects through various phases - Participate in the QA effort - Participate in the coordination effort of tasks and priorities for work within a development cycle - Ensure proper follow through and resolution for defect tracking · Performs other related duties as assigned *Essential skills, knowledge and abilities:* - Must have a strong understanding of QA processes - Strong experience in client server applications, services and data bases. - Strong experience in object oriented design in a .NET framework - Strong programming skills in C# - Strong experience with Microsoft SQL 2008, development and troubleshooting, with particular skills in replication, debugging using T-SQL, Trace and Profiler, and writing stored procedures - Web Services experience in .NET - Proficient experience with design patterns - Work with peers to carry out code reviews - Design, develop, diagnose, debug, and support moderate to major complexity applications within a multi-layered, service oriented architecture. - Ability to provide technical leadership to software engineer level - Strong Experience with WPF and WF - Strong problem resolution, analysis, and troubleshooting skills. - Must have great communication skills - Must be able to work in a fast paced corporate environment - Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; or *four to six years *related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Demonstrated use of intermediate computer operations (basic programming in 3rd and 4th generation languages, relational databases, and operating systems) and intermediate software packages (word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.). - Ability to read, analyze and interpret, common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs. - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
