Direct Client Network Engineer III Location: Atlanta, GA The position is responsible for the installation, configuration, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of network infrastructure. Also, this role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and validation of solutions being implemented by third party vendors. This includes routers, proxy servers, switches, and WAN accelerators, VoIP, DHCP. Network Administration Install, configure and support network equipment including routers, proxy servers, load balancers, switches, WAN accelerators, DHCP servers and other networking equipment as required. Perform daily operational task of equipment deployment, maintenance, and reporting of issues to the Enterprise Network Services Coordinator Document infrastructure inventory, including device configurations, routing information and dependencies between systems. Engage global MPLS carriers on escalated service faults Proactive monitoring of service desk tickets Proactive monitoring of regional/global network devices and services Serves as a technical point of escalation within the region. Delegation of task to junior level engineers as needed. Change Management Ensure adherence to global change management procedures Knowledge / Experience / Competencies Required Job Specific Knowledge: Expert understanding of TCP/IP networking and subnetting Expert Cisco router and switching administration, IOS and/or NX-OS Advanced Cisco Call Manager administration experience with version 7.1 and upwards Demonstrate capabilities in planning, organizing, and prioritizing activities to meet operational requirements Ability to produce and maintain technical documentation Ability to effectively communicate issues with management and non-technical staff Prior experience with team leadership Industry Specific Experience: Advance knowledge of WAN Optimization – Riverbed Expert level skill with VOIP/IP Telephony – Cisco Call Manager and Call Manger Express Intermediate experience with Proxy – ISA, Websense, Bluecoat, Cisco Scansafe, Citrix Netscaler Intermediate skill monitoring and analysis– SolarWinds Orion, Kiwi Cattools, NTOP, Wireshark Advanced knowledge of VPN tunnels: client and site-to-site Advanced knowledge of Cisco ASA firewalls Moderate knowledge of Active Directory and systems environments. Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training: Industry standard qualifications in one or more of Cisco CCNP/CCDP, ProCurve AEF/ASE, 3Com LAN/WAN Cert, Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS for Routing/Switching or Security Polytechnic/Technical College Diploma of Networking or University Degree of Computer Science with advanced networking focuses. Previous field experience of 5 or more years in LAN, MAN, WAN networking technologies IT Skills: Ability to quickly learn new device operations and administration Ability to effectively prioritize work Advanced skill with the following areas: BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, VoIP, IP Telephony, multi-layer switching, circuit troubleshooting, network performance analysis, QoS, TCP/IP Solid analytical and problem solving skills.
