*Job Title: Data ArchitectDuration: 6Months C2HLocation: Kansas City ,MO* *Phone and In Person interviews on this one* *Job description* CLIENT is seeking an experienced data architect skilled in designing data warehouses from the ground up in the Microsoft SQL Server environment. This individual should be skilled in with migrating legacy warehouse environments to new ones with experience in planning a phased approach to such projects accounting for reporting continuity. The individual must have expert level skills at architecting, designing, and tuning Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) cubes having worked with both multi-dimensional and tabular cubes. The individual should have experience in using SSAS cubes to create a well-defined semantic layer enabling self-service BI for our business community. This individual will be expected to interact with the business team to participate with them in defining Master Data Management and Data Governance strategies. * Responsibilities:* * Work majority of time on complex projects with broad impact to the business * Collaborate with customers * Mentor level 1, 2 and 3 developers * Estimate time to complete tasks * Design complex system specs * Document application/data designs * Leads design and code reviews * Participate in Arch Review Board * Support existing technologies * Interpret internal or external business issues and recommends best practices/solutions * Qualifications:* * 5+ years' experience in data architecture and modeling in the Microsoft BI space * Will have at least 10 years of IT experience * Expert level experience in SSAS cube design, construction and maintenance * Expert level experience in T-SQL and data modeling concepts * Extensive experience in developing and adhering to data architecture standards and practices around BI development and data warehousing * Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies/products related to architectural solutions * Maintain knowledge of current domains and strategic roadmaps * Responsible for coordinating, administering and supporting activities related to data integration planning and data warehouse planning * Ensure alignment of conceptual designs with enterprise roadmaps (i.e. aligning system vision with IT strategy) * Responsible for contributing to the overall Enterprise Information Management strategy including Data Governance and Master Data Management strategies * Preferred experience in any of the following technologies - SSRS, SSIS, Informatica, Team Foundation Server * Trouble shooting skills focused on problems of diverse scope * Translate functional into technical requirements * Enforce technical standards including coding, tools and platforms * Stays current on software development best practices * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related degree and 8+ years related experience or, in lieu of degree, a minimum of 12 years related experience. Must be able to work with business teams and tell them based on their needs what kind of datawarehouse and solutions they should use. CLIENT is moving from legacy systems to new systems and they need a datawarehousing expert that can design and build solutions for the business side. They can recommend what is the best way to structure the dimensions based on the needs, they can define design standards and patterns.
