Direct Client Sr. Network Engineer 12 months Richmond, VA Overview Manage day-to-day operations of network; monitor network performance, troubleshoot problems, and provide maintenance (addition/deletion of users, file server configuration and recovery, documentation of network resources). Ensure security of data stored on network servers and workstations and establish backup procedures. Develop network solutions to address present and future needs; test hardware, software, and operating systems to assess usability without risking network stability; recommend software purchases to reduce risk of network failures; project budgets. Install hardware and software including network infrastructure (servers, interface cards) and cabling. Consult with supervisor, Central Information Technology Services, and/or vendor on more complex issues. Review and analyze hardware and software needs; evaluate new technologies and recommend changes and upgrades to provide efficient, effective and timely service to users REQUIREMENTS 7-10 years of network engineering CCIE Required Strong experience with a variety of cisco products Able to mentor jr team members Intuitive ability to trouble shoot difficult issues Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization.
