Job Description:

The primary role of the Service Engineer will be to provide support for
Finance BI tools. You will work closely with development, system test,
support, and the business to ensure supported applications provide customer
delight. For this position we are looking for someone with strong SQL DBA
and trouble shooting skills and also the ability to support systems end to
end (including Network, IIS, OS/hardware, etc).



Specific responsibilities include:

·         Design Integration: Review specifications and offer insight at
the code or architectural level on manageability and supportability for an
area of expertise or for solutions.

·         Automation: Use scripting, batch files, and development
environments to create and improve solutions for automating manual work
items.

·         Continuity Planning: Implement plans for disaster recovery,
mitigation, contingency, and security as needed, and leads end-to-end
efforts.

·         Performance Optimization: Analyze performance data related to
global service elements and provide recommendations

·         Problem Management: Performing Root cause analysis, Track and
investigate problems by using standard and custom problem management tools
and processes, and develop plans and recommendations for improvements

·         Incident Management: Document and investigate escalated incidents
or incidents across multiple service dependencies, resolve them by using
innovative engineering practices, and document those innovations into
engineer standards while monitoring the overall quality of incident
management

·         Develop operational documentation related to the BI Finance tools
to enable sustainable and reliable operations.

·         Participate in the implementation of new SQL application releases
and web technology. Provide design inputs and operational best practices.

·         Defines metrics and analyzes system performance.

·         Implement, operate and restore, improve/optimize new/and/or
existing services (integrated and scalable, end-to-end systems, networks,
and platforms).

·         Manage supportability and troubleshoot the availability of
applications, properties, systems, networks, and servers. Proactively
support multiple, highly complex systems.

 Skill Set:

·         Strong ability to implement operational efficiencies through
scripting, i.e. automation

·         Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem solving skills,
especially with initially ambiguous or incomplete details.

·         Demonstrated excellence in customer focus and ability to
communicate complex technical concepts and issues to a non-technical
customer community in a concise, clear manner often tailored to the
audience.

·         Demonstrated experience with various software development
methodologies including waterfall and agile methodologies such as SCRUM and
familiarity with the role that operations plays in the engineering process.

 Requirements/Qualifications:

·         Strong scripting and/or coding skills including one or more of
the following: PowerShell, C#, TSQL, VBScript.

·         Experience operating enterprise systems that leverage SQL
2012/2014 including strong T-SQL skills, SQL server Database
administration, Performance Troubleshooting and tuning,

·         Experience implementing high availability solutions like Always
on, Clustering, Mirroring etc. SQL Extended events, troubleshooting complex
SQL issues, debugging TSQL code.

·         SSRS report development and troubleshooting, knowledge of SSIS &
SSAS and related troubleshooting skills.

·         IIS Administration- Web Site setup, migration, troubleshooting
complex issues, SSL certificate management.

·         Working knowledge of Load Balancing solutions like HLB, ASLB etc.

·         Experience operating enterprise systems deployed on Windows
Server 2008/2012 and IIS 7/8 including administration, implementation and
troubleshooting.

·         Knowledge of Monitoring tools such as SCOM or any other.

·         Metrics collection techniques

·         Ability to deal with the ambiguity associated with working in a
fast paced and changing environment.

·         Excellent written and oral communication skills

·         Leadership skills: Sound problem resolution, judgment,
negotiating and decision making skills.

·         Preferred skills in Project Management.

·         Ability to manage and deliver multiple project phases at the same
time, and being able to manage ongoing operational issues with longer term
strategic work.

·         Working knowledge of MOF/ITIL best practices and demonstrated
experience with implementing and operating systems within these frameworks.

·         Experience in managing supportability and troubleshooting the
availability of applications, properties, systems, networks, and servers
for high availability enterprise systems.
