*Jr. Application Support Consultant*

*Location : NYC*

*Term: 2 Years*



This individual will be working with a team responsible for implementing
and supporting applications which comprise client. The position will
provide technical support and expert knowledge within a variety of
technologies including (but not limited to) WebSphere, Tomcat,  Solaris,
Linux, Windows, Etc.  With limited direction, this candidate will
participate in delivering solutions to business problems by providing day
to day operations support, participating in project activity, performing
application configuration, and daily scheduled maintenance for Web-based
problems. This individual assists in the identification and isolation of
problems, works with team members, other support organizations, and
customers to provide timely and accurate resolution.

Primary Responsibilities

•  Strong problem solving skills.  Ability to work across business and
systems groups at all levels. Customer service orientation demonstrated by
the ability to work with customers on key support issues.

•  Responsible for monitoring the availability of environments. Monitor
system performance and error logs to insure a high level of application
availability.  This will include enhancing the automated
monitoring          applications in place.

•  Participating in the build out of end-to-end systems environments,
documenting procedures, including application flows and dependency diagrams.

•  In working with our internal systems partners provide support for
infrastructure changes such as WebSphere/Tomcat upgrades, Solaris or Linux
patches and application installs.

•  Escalate support issues to other groups (development, network, hardware,
vendors, etc.) as required. Coordinate all activities and provide updates
to operations and management.  This includes participating or authoring
incident reports and technical communications.

•  Identify potential improvements to reduce the number of problems and
enhance supportability.

•  Participate in the transition of new applications, modifications and
enhancements to production support. This includes the development of call
scripts, monitoring procedures, standard break/fix doc



*Education and Experience*

•  BS in Computer Science or MIS

•  3+ years’ experience in application and systems support or relevant
technical training.

•  3+ years’ experience distributed application environment



*Skills and Knowledge*

•  Application support experience in WebSphere 6.x/7.x/8.x , Tomcat, Linux
and Solaris a must.

•  Build and release automation tools such as (Maven, Jenkins, uDeploy,
NexusPro)

•  Source code management systems and administration (GIT, ClearCase)

•  Scripting experience required (Shell Scripting)

•  Hands-on professional experience with variety of the following
technologies is highly desired: Oracle, SQL Server, Java, Windows and Linux
platforms.

•  Experience in Java Application (J2EE) and Web Server Application
Support, installation, and configuration

•  Proven Analytical, Problem Resolution, and Prioritization Skills

•  Knowledge security issues related to Intranet transaction
