*Position : Security Engineer * *Location : Duluth, GA* *Duration : 5+ Months Phone / Skype* Our client in John's Creek has an immediate need for a Security Monitoring Analyst. * Job Description* • This hands-on role will support the Information security development team to pull system and application data necessary for monitoring objectives from various Security Systems. • The successful applicant will work closely with Information Security Operations, Delivery, and other Technical Teams to enable data collection using SNMP, sylog, api, and other methods. • This role includes a consulting aspect where the candidate supports the development teams by helping to make sense of the data outputs they are seeing and provide the feedback needed in order to successfully parse the content. • The SME should have experience with monitoring various information security tools using SNMP, syslog, and application programming interfaces. • Security platforms include SIEM, remote access, authentication systems, anti-virus, firewalls, web filtering, and similar systems. *Job Requirement* • Work directly with development teams to determine appropriate methods for collecting necessary information from various security tools • Research potential options for collecting this information • Work with security tool vendors when necessary • Ensure integration between the Information Security dashboard and key network security applications and systems • Individually accountable for enabling the collection of and access to the appropriate information necessary for meeting the monitoring dashboard project objectives • Be attentive to detail and provide feedback to developers and project leadership as necessary • Follow process and procedures for change control • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality • Resolves high impact and/or complex, chronic or cross-functional problems • Creates or updates documentation • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing *Job Qualifications:* • 5+ years of experience with information security system administration or monitoring using SNMP and syslog (api experience desired) • Strong analytical and problem solving skills a must • Ability to multitask required • Ability to effectively communicate technical issues and recommend solutions to all levels of business, sometimes during high stress situations *Beneficial Qualifications:* • Basic website development and SQL experience may be helpful Regards , Kailash Negi VSG Business Solutions Phone: 302-261-3207 x 102 Email: [email protected] -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "American Vendor--IT Consulting" group.
