*Job Title: Java Application Developer* *Location: Oakland – CA* *Duration: 12+ Months* Job Description: Under the direction of the Project Manager, the application developer will work as a member of the project development team to produce a multi-tiered Java web application in a Weblogic Application Server 8.1 Red Hat Linux 3.0, Oracle 9i RDBMS environment. The code development will be divided into Presentation Layer development and Service Layer development. Development standards and work items will be assigned to the application developer by the application development lead. The application developer is expected to work within the development team as well as with QA and build staff to troubleshoot and resolve code defects. Responsibilities will include: · Translation of all screen mockups pages to JSP and Struts; adhering to the programming standards set up for the project in the Presentation Layer development. · As part of the Service Layer development, the developer will code the business services, DAO’s, DTO’s and Hibernate persistent objects to service the method calls from the Presentation Layer. · Creation of his or her own unit test cases using JUnit. *Required Skills:* · An in depth understanding of MVC-II based architectures specifically struts. · A strong knowledge of Hibernate O-R environment (HQL, Hibernate Caching, etc.) and DAO design pattern. · Strong communication skills and demonstrated experience working in a development team environment · Weblogic Application Server 8.1 · UI development using JSP with JSTL, Struts · Use of Ant, Log4J, JUnit and other open source tools. · Development of Java Web Applications in the Eclipse IDE environment · Oracle 9i RBDMS (PL/SQL, DML, DDL, general SQL) · Coding in a Windows 2000 and Red Hat Linux environment · Knowledge of SDLC principles and practices · Clear and concise code commenting and documentation skills *Desired Skills:* · Experience using Display Tag or Struts Layout for UI JSP coding. · Visual Source Safe (VSS) · Crystal Reports 9 · MS Access (SQL queries) -- Thanks & Regards, *Sampath* Damcosoft Inc.
