The mission of DSISS is to safeguard Cigna Group Disability and Life’s data and reporting posture by rationalizing Group’s data assets, data access, and data lineage, as well as by supporting sound data analysis and robust reporting solutions. In this role, the right candidate will support the DSISS mission by leveraging his or her data management skills and experience to help craft and maintain a robust metadata management strategy and the structures needed to implement that strategy. The right candidate for this role will have a passion for data and a solid background in data and/or database modeling (Embarcadero ER/Studio and/or ER Win), as well as a background in database development (Oracle or SQL Server, PL/SQL or T-SQL, but preferably some of both). In addition to his or her technical skills, the right candidate will have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and a positive “can-do” attitude as this role will require a significant amount of interaction with people across employee levels and departments. *Skills:* Work with IT management to establish and maintain consistent data element definitions across computing environments Establish, maintain, and ensure compliance with data modeling and data integration standards. Understand flows between disparate source / target systems, and participate in the development and maintenance of data architecture. Perform a variety of data analysis and modeling tasks with limited supervision. Develop and present training materials as needed to help evangelize the DSISS message. Provide functional advice, training, and advanced data related support to project teams both during the planning and in-flight stages of their projects. Requires excellent planning, conceptual, consulting and communication skills, analytical ability, strong judgment and management skills, and the ability to interact with senior business area and IT management and staff solutions. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong experience in logical and physical data modeling in OLTP and OLAP environments. Able to recognize and identify patterns in data relationships from disparate systems. Strong database fundamentals and data modeling knowledge. Strong experience performing data modeling studies and develops detailed data models. Strong experience in transforming logical models to physical models. Good understanding of understanding of ODS, data warehouse, data mart, and data cube, and database technologies. Strong SQL (PL/SQL preferred, T-SQL acceptable) background. Previous experience in gathering requirements for reporting solutions and data analysis. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
