5+ years managing Enterprise Monitoring tools, 3+ years with System Center 
Operations Manager (SCOM).

3+ years System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) deployment and 
infrastructure knowledge including troubleshooting, design, and 
implementation experience.

5+ years systems engineering and systems administration of a Windows-based 
environment.

Experience identifying, implementing and documenting monitoring standards, 
procedures, and policies

3+ years designing, developing, and supporting monitoring solutions for 
Windows Server, SQL Server, IIS, and .NET and other applications using 
Microsoft System Center Operations Manager.

Experience authoring and managing SCOM management packs for distributed 
infrastructure and applications. Must also have experience using 
AVICode/APM.

3+ years’ experience with script development using PowerShell or Visual 
Basic for automation of systems administration.

Experience tuning capacity and fault alerts within SCOM; able to provide 
guidance relating to meaningful and appropriate thresholds.

Experience with design and implementation of high-availability/fault 
tolerant instances of System Center tools.

Demonstrated ability to apply expert level technical writing and 
presentation skills to support creation and publication of project 
artifacts and documentation. 

*Desired Skills*

Working knowledge and experience using System Center Configuration Manager, 
System Center Service Manager, System Center Virtual Machine Manger and 
System Center Orchestrator.

Experience with Team Foundation Server and Team Build servers.

Experience deploying Windows Workflows and SharePoint Workflows. 

ITIL Foundation and/or MOF certification.

Familiarity with TOGAF or other architectural frameworks.

Application Support Team provides mission-critical support to customers and 
partners. In this Support Engineer role, you will focus on delivering 
outstanding technical support to customers and partners for the AX 
application with collaboration of different integrators.  The successful 
candidate will work within a team of support specialists focused on 
resolving our Customer issues and Dynamics AX issues by providing technical 
support. This requires scoping the customer’s and partner’s expectations 
and collaborating with others to meet those expectations in the shortest 
possible time. The candidate should have a strong Technical Support/ERP 
background with solid skills on ERP systems architecture and MS 
technologies (SQL, SQL Reporting Services, Share Point, Win Server, etc.)

 

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX or other ERP applications (CRM).

Experience with Microsoft technologies, including IIS, SQL Server, and 
Office.

Use business process knowledge to troubleshoot application wide issues 
around Retail system, Supply Chain Management, Financials and others.

Determine the best approach for resolving complex technical issues that 
will yield the desired turn-around time and optimal customer solution while 
minimizing the impact to the customer.

*Roles and Responsibilities:*

Documents and investigates incidents or incidents across multiple 
infrastructure dependencies, resolves them by using standard operation 
procedures and troubleshooting guidelines while monitoring the overall 
quality of incident management.

Tracks and investigates problems across our infrastructure by using 
standard and custom problem management tools and processes, and develops 
plans and recommendations for improvements

Advises and captures requirements for Engineering on methods for reducing 
repeat incidents by focusing on the most impactful and voluminous incidents 
that hinder good signal to noise ratios.

Support and manage incidents, notifications, communication and other 
activities through automation, technology and vendor management as part of 
large scale operations.

Work closely with other teams to improve detection, prioritization and aid 
resolution or mitigation of incidents, especially those related to 
infrastructure issues through improved processes, tooling and monitoring.

Identify and document common recovery procedures for service impacting 
incidents through improved SOPs and TSGs.

Champion platform operability by designing and driving improvements into 
features, monitors and tools.

Provide input into prevention, detection and enhancement projects for 
continuous service improvement of GFS.

Due to the dynamic network and infrastructure environment, the ability to 
quickly absorb and apply new concepts is critical.

 

*Skills and Qualifications:*

Strong knowledge on PowerShell scripting

Experience in Windows Azure infrastructure 

Knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals and commonly used network protocols

Ability to identify and troubleshoot basic network and DNS problems using 
simple commands (ping, trace, nslookup) is required. Understanding of 
network packet captures (using NETMON or Wireshark) and HTTP traces 
(Fiddler, etc) is expected.

Strong familiarity with DNS, Active Directory, PKI, OSI model, routing, 
switching and load balancing

Strong familiarity with Microsoft products, including Windows Server, SQL 
Server, and IIS

Experience with failover clustering and Hyper-V/SCVMM/virtualization

Experience with monitoring solutions (i.e. MOM, SCOM, Keynote, Gomez, etc…)

Although depth in certain subjects is important, for this position it is 
equally important to have a broad generalist understanding spanning several 
disciplines including networking and Windows server

Strong analytical problem solving skills, interpersonal, documentation and 
decision making skills in a high pressure, dynamic environment involving 
multiple teams are expected

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and context switch, be a self-starter 
with the drive and passion to work independently and collaboratively 
without supervision, set expectations and be dependable

 

*Basic Qualifications:*

The ideal candidate will have hands-on years of experience supporting large 
scale online services or internet service providers, preferably in an OC, a 
background in server/network fault diagnosis, troubleshooting and 
resolution, and strong collaboration and communication skills (with a 
variety of audiences including engineers, executive management and 
customers).

MCSE/CCNA/CCNP or similar certification is a plus.

ITIL v3 Foundation or ITIL v3 Practitioner for Support & Response (IPSR) 
certifications are a plus

SMTP, Terminal Services, and SCOM MP authoring skillset is a strong plus.

 

*Experience Required:*

5+ years supporting, managing or implementing an internet service provider, 
telecom or large scale network services production environment.

5+ years of working knowledge and experience troubleshooting networks and 
infrastructure issues.

BA/BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, 
Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering or equivalent education or 
experience.
