Position – Sr. ETL Developer

Duration: 2 Month Contract

Location: Austin, TX



*The position*… The Senior Informatica ETL Developer will be operating in a
Teradata-based Business Intelligence / Data Warehousing (BI/DW) environment
that is embarking on projects in the Amazon cloud services space. This role
will be responsible for working with the Data Integration and architect
teams outside of BI in order to design and develop ETL solutions, perform
code reviews, enhance standards and processes, improve quality, fine tune
performance, and establish best practices across the team. Our new team
member will work in a positive, supportive team manner with other analysts,
developers, and our business partners to resolve technical needs, and
design supportable technical solutions.


*Key/ ideal Responsibilities, a cross section of:*

   - Informatica job development
   - 8+ years of experience in ETL for data warehouse and business
   analytics.
   - 5+ years expertise in Informatica PowerCenter, PowerExchange and
   client tools (Designer, Workflow Manager, Workflow Monitor, and Repository
   Manager) including creating mappings, sessions, and workflows.

·5+ years of experience in metadata creation and management;
·5+ years of technical knowledge and hands on experience with Teradata;

   - 4+ years of experience running and scheduling workflows from Workflow
   Monitor and from the command line using pmcmd (Informatica command line
   tool)
   - 3+ years expertise in ETL performance tuning
   - 3+ years expertise serving as an Informatica administrator..
   Informatica PowerCenter Administration experience on Linux including user
   administration, migrating objects between environments, and server
   patch/version upgrades is a plus
   - 3+ years of experience with visualization and reporting solutions such
   as MicroStrategy, Microsoft, Tableau and Tidemark;
   - Experience loading data from XML files with the Informatica Developer
   client (v9) is a plus

·Experience in physical data modeling in Teradata
·Knowledge RealTime Change Data Capture (CDC), Metadata Manager, Profiling
·An understanding of  database design concepts and best practices , and
management techniques;
·Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.

   - Scripting like KornShell, Perl (experience with XML parsing) or Python
   (Copying data to Amazon S3).
   - Monitor and respond to daily health-check/system status e-mails.
   - Resolve data load job and production problems.  If unable to resolve
   issues, follow-up includes documenting issue clearly for escalation to
   developers.
   - Log, investigate and track technical/data issues raised by business
   partners/users.
   - Act as a customer issue resolution contact and take ownership of
   problems.
   - Liaison with development team in order to relay impactful support
   issues requiring remediation by the development team.
   - Support system deployments.
   - Liaison with development team to transition new deployments into a
   production-support mode.
   - Write technical articles and documentation.
   - 4+ years of experience in SQL working with:
      - Analytical functions, ranking and ordered
      - Aggregate functions
      - Complex, correlated, sub-queries
      - Recursive queries
      - Multistep SQL
      - Data modeling, both logical and physical
      - Familiarity with 3rd normal form vs Star Schemas

*Basic Qualifications*

   - Ability to handle multiple problems simultaneously, work under
   deadlines.
   - Analyze data requirements and design a robust Informatica ETL
   processes optimized for business intelligence operations which include
   MicroStrategy, Teradata and Amazon Cloud services.
   - Contribute to the design of a data migration strategy that uses our
   ETL/ELT applications across new and legacy systems.
   - Provide training in ETL concepts and best practices for a data
   warehouse/OLAP environment
   - Contribute to the design of relational structures in data warehouse
   and data marts;
   - Must be a self-starter, highly business focused, and have the ability
   to work effectively in a team environment.
   - Maintain, modify and troubleshoot reports, attributes, metrics, and
   underlying data objects as necessary.
