Responsibilities
The Manager, Cross-Business Portfolio Analytics will have a central role in
managing the Cross-Business Milestone reporting process for the Shire
Portfolio. As a business analyst and program manager liaison, this role
will assist the Director Decision Support, Decision Analytics and Resource
Planning in auditing, consolidating, analyzing and reporting data in a
meaningful way to facilitate Sr. Management decisions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the drug
development lifecycle, and experience in data extraction, analysis, and
reporting using Analytical and BI tools. The position will have a
substantial focus on the development and maintenance of analytical and BI
applications, and will work directly with program managers and functional
stakeholders to design, build and implement reporting solutions. Preferred
experience in QlikView and Qlik Sense.

Job Function and Description
50% of Time: Tactical Data Oversight & Project Management
• Generate monthly status updates and variance reports for review by team
leadership
• Define, manage, refine, and execute on evolving reporting and analytical
needs to ensure top quality deliverable/services are provided to our
business customers
• Support ad hoc data requirements to fulfill Sr. Management requests
• Define, document, and implement global processes to ensure compliance and
standardization across stakeholders
• Leverage people, process, and technology to implement best practices and
achieve continuous and sustainable improvements in data collection and
reporting
• Write, review, and approve training materials

30% of the time: Business Intelligence
• Act as business liaison and expert on functionality, data content, and
business rules within the BI environment related specifically to data.
• Responsible for defining and implementing QA/QC processes, as well as for
UAT of business rules in the BI environment
• Provide support for regularly scheduled enhancements to existing toolsets
including: managing requested changes and priority, gathering requirements
and documentation, development status, testing, training, communications
and release
• Monitor and provide guidance on data conflicts, quality issues, and
system design decisions where information and reporting are affected
• Communicate issues affecting BI utilization as well as roll out of new
tools and applications as they relate to data and information

20% of Time: Cross Functional Collaboration/ Stakeholder management
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction is
exceeded
• Work with customers to investigate and resolve inquiries related to
business data
• Act as departmental liaison with Vendors, IT and Legal to process all the
necessary SOWs and POs required.

Experience & Knowledge
• Bachelor’s degree preferably in business, mathematics, sciences, or
related analytical field
• Three plus years of experience analyzing Drug Development information
• Experience with reporting and analytical packages essential – Preferably,
with QlikView and Qlik Sense.
• Strong written and oral communication and management skills
• Demonstrated business acumen

o Experience with reporting and analytical tools within the Pharmaceutical
Industry is essential
o Knowledge of data privacy laws especially those that uniquely effect the
pharmaceutical industry
o Software knowledge for key systems (Microsoft, Excel & Word, SQL, BI
applications)
