*Start Date: Can start this week if **available*
*Job Details:*
*Project Overview: T*his looks like a middleware project vs. front end
and/or back storage procedure type work specifically is that correct? Just
trying to understand what space they will be playing in. Will they be
required to do any new development on current applications? Yes, we are in
the process of a upgrading our JBoss servers to 6.4.x (from 4.3), our
ColdFusion instances to 10.x (we have one instance on 8.x), and moving all
these application servers from a Solaris OS to a RHEL OS. The primary
objective is to position our infrastructure and middleware such that we are
running in a supported capacity – the aforementioned technologies will see
to this. While achieving this, we want to limit the amount of business
functionality/logic such that any changes will be only as a direct result
of achieving our desired support posture
There are other people on the team that will assist in the upgrades of
other areas but your primary responsibility would be JBoss and RedHat
Upgrades. Looking for candidates with JBoss domain as we’re looking to
upgrade JBoss and all the app dependencies and then migrate the application
from Solaris to RHEL.
- I know that I need someone who has been involved in JBoss upgrades not
only from the application server perspective but also from the Java
application side – in terms of upgrading the dependent Java libraries
and digging through the code.
