Ability to multitask Ability to follow procedures Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with little supervision Must be able to work in Windows and Unix environments Must have experience working in a backup and disk storage environments TSM Server deployment on windows Configuring clients to use TSM to perform backups. Turn over to hospital operations group. TSM version 7; 6 or up is fine. Libraries or data domains. 107 sites operating a small data center Will assess storage equipment on site using MyTrends tool from EMC. Report using criteria provided. If qualifies for upgrade, will be part of the deployment team. EMC, DMX TSM expertise. The Storage Engineer, performs various administrative storage duties necessary for the successful deployment of mission critical applications and infrastructure, ensuring the quality of the deployment meets CHS standards and transitions to Operations. These duties include monitoring for and resolving alerts, real time remediation of missed or failed backups, logging information related to missed or failed backups, working problem tickets, opening and coordinating tickets with vendors, documenting the environment and perform any traning necessary to tranistion to Operations. This position will also provide day to day assistance to team members, coordinate issue resolution for the team as well as identify required resources from other teams for successful service delivery. The candidate should also demonstrate highly motivated qualities and the ability to interact at all levels of corporate management. *Role / Responsibilities:* Performs backup administration duties including, but not limited to installing, configuring and troubleshooting backup clients, registering clients to the backup server, setting up backup policies and schedules Setup and maintain the backup client code including schedules, and backup configuration files Alert monitoring for backup agents, SAN and storage devices Ensure reporting is functional for all backup servers Real time remediation of failed backups.
