Business Analyst (Financial Systems) Location: Atlanta, GA Length: 6 months Locals Only Duties and Responsibilities include: Contribute to continuous improvement of the feature team, e.g. by participating in retrospectives and sharing observations and ideas for improvement. Learn the business from the internal operations and external customer perspectives, teach your colleagues about the business, and advocate for the business's needs. Interact directly with stakeholders to identify and evaluate requirements and improvement opportunities and explain issues. Conduct research to determine if solutions to business requirements currently exist within or outside the business unit, and if not, whether new solutions are feasible. Analyze impact and risks of proposed solutions across the business, develop user stories and acceptance criteria to explain/demonstrate business requirements/specifications to the rest of the feature team, recommend risk mitigants, and contribute a business or process perspective during the software development process. Ensure requirements and acceptance criteria from all stakeholders, including Operations and IT Support, are represented. Document detailed functional requirement specifications and ensure proper coverage of the business requirements. Help the team build quality in, e.g. by reviewing technical designs, following Test Driven Development practices, reviewing or creating unit tests, and participating in desk checks. Plan and execute manual testing using "production-like" test coverage and data to ensure the intended benefits are achieved. Facilitate implementation of new functionality through training sessions, demos, and the development of appropriate documentation for internal and external users. Provide third-tier support for production incident management. Qualifications 5 years of relevant experience in business analysis / business systems analysis Financial process and applications experience: Expense Recognition, Accruals, Payment Processing (in SAP preferred), Basic Accounting Capturing requirements, data analysis, risk analysis, leading and performing tests using HPQC or similar. Translating technical designs and issues to business client Have worked in complex environments – multiple vendors and reporting channels Excellent business and project team communication skills Know how to track requirements all the way to delivery Experience in translating Business Requirements to Technical teams; preparing functional specifications Ability to inspect and adapt the way the team works to continuously improve Excellent critical thinking skills, ability to find and solve root causes of problems amid "noise" Excellent written and verbal communication skills when working with both internal business and technical people and with external customers, ability to solidify vague requests, explain issues, and guide to solutions.
