*Job Title : Linux EngineerLocation : Nashville, TNDuration : Long Term ContractRate : 50/hr on C2CSummary:* Duties will include high-level administration of hardware and software in a multi-platform environment, technical documentation, project management, engineering, issue resolution, and technical presentations. Specific responsibilities include installation of software products on various hardware platforms, operating system installation and customization where applicable, troubleshoot, coordinate, assist and advise in recovery from component failures of supported systems. The qualified candidate will be relied upon to make good decisions and help mentor personnel in junior positions. *RESPONSIBILITIES:* Assist in the certification and design of new platform technologies Provide technical leadership and responsibility for the installation and certification of all supporting software and hardware in order to assure a sound deployment basis for production implementations. Identifies and documents Linux processes and procedures. Provides input and recommendations in regard to short and long range departmental planning in the area (emphasis in Linux and Platform Management.) Assists with the education and training of personnel in Linux. Participates in the Disaster/Recovery effort. *AREA OF EXPERIENCE * Must have 5+ years’ experience in deploying technically complex infrastructure computing solutions across platforms and components. 5+ years’ experience with Linux 5+ years Engineering, Administration, Troubleshooting Experience in automating tasks using PowerCLI, Powershell or C#. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively are essential. A solid understanding of computer performance metrics and tools is highly desirable, to include understanding of CPU utilization levels, CPU and disk queuing, I/O response times, and other key performance indicators and their impact on performance. 1+ years experience with network fundamentals and performance principles, including a firm understanding of TCPIP protocols.
