*Role : SQL DBA with PowerShell Exp.* *Location : Eden Prairie, MN* *Duration : 4+ months* *Interview : Phone /Skype * * PowerShell experience within the most recent project is a MUST (looking for 2+ years). * *Top requirements:* • Culture – Integrity, compassion, relationships, innovation, performance • Great communication skills • Team player • SQL Server experience, 5+ years SQL 2008-2012. 2014 is a plus • PowerShell skills, 2+ years. Remote administration is a plus *Nice to haves :* • Well rounded technologist (we are moving to a generalist model) • Strong understanding of multiple OS’s, networking technologies, firewall • Experience in multiple backup technologies (Data Domain, TSM/TDP, compression, deduping) • Experience in encryption and different encryption models • Technical writing and documentation *Responsibilities:* • Provide primary support for client SQL Server databases • Develop PowerShell scripts and automation to support our enterprise automation strategies and goals • Plan and design new SQL Server implementations, including database definition, structure, documentation and long-range requirements • Demonstrate the knowledge and ability to perform in all of the basic database management skills of database administration, web connectivity, physical structure, overall architecture, and database analysis • Provide standardization and consistency across environments • Apply database management consulting skills and gather user requirements • Provide on-call support, answer severity calls, and provide problem resolution • Design, implement, and monitor database functionality to ensure stable environments • Uphold enterprise policy guidelines and recommend new and improved guidelines *Job Requirement* • At least 5 years' experience working with SQL Server 2008, 2012, or 2014 (strong preference in a production support role) • Experience with SQL Server DBMS monitoring and tuning • At least 3 years' experience writing PowerShell support scripts, commandlets, and functions for automated management tasks • Experience with SQL Server Always-On Availability groups • Four-year degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent experience • Effective verbal and written communication skills in both business and technical areas • Strong organizational skills to handle changing priorities, tight schedules, and correction of critical systems outside of normal working hours • Proven ability to maintain leading edge skills in a rapidly changing and fast-paced information systems environment *Desired Qualifications:* • Background in corporate job schedulers (i.e. IBM TWS) • Experience with third-party backup tools (i.e. Data Domain, TSM/TDP, dedup) • Experience with third-party monitoring tools (i.e. Foglight) • Experience working with remote teams • Experience working with encryption methodologies Regards , Kailash Negi VSG Business Solutions 221 Cornwell Dr Bear, DE Email : [email protected] Phone : 302-261-3207 x 102 -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "American Vendor--IT Consulting" group.
